Rebecca Tonkovich (Arty Brush Strokes, CA)

Southern Californian Body Painter Rebecca Tonkovich of Arty Brush Strokes, is the creator of Arty Brush Cakes (ABC). Mini rainbow cakes that blend, high light and shadow with a single stroke. Her whimsical style and multi color blends are her trade mark, and are recognized world-wide. Rebecca loves coming up with new designs, and you’ll rarely find her without sketch book in her hand.

She has a Masters in Social Work and a Minor in Art; has always had a passion for the arts, and a love of teaching. But, after meeting Mark Reid (see Gallery) 4 years ago, her love for face and body painting exploded!! The ABC’s were created within the first 3 months of her face and body art journey. Rebecca has been a One Stroke painter for 25 years, and has even taught Donna Dewberry how to use the ABC’s for body art!

Rebecca quickly shot into the face and body art spotlight. Within her first year as a face and body painter, she was featured in Illusion Magazine and named “Up and Coming Artist” at the Face and Body Art International Convention (FABAIC). Marcella Murad stated that “Rebecca would be the person to change the face …of face and body painting”! Which is exactly what happened and hit the industry by storm!. It’s a rare thing to find an artist’s kit without an ABC now. These magical cakes allow the painter to create designs that look complex, and even the newest painter can create beautiful designs with just a little instruction.

Thinking outside the box is something Rebecca has always done, and she will continue to create new techniques and designs to grow her face and body painting skills. She has an extensive back ground in art, she also paints with oil and acrylic paints, and found it easy to switch to body painting. Rebecca found her career skyrocketing to the top, and within her first two years, the face and body art world opened the doors of opportunity and she was hired as the Lead Painter for a Playboy Mansion event!
